Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They help websites remember information about your visit, such as your login session, so you do not have to sign in on every page.

2. Cookies We Use

Merry-Go uses a minimal set of cookies, all of which are essential to running the platform:

  • Authentication cookies - keep you signed in as you navigate between pages
  • Session cookies - maintain your active session while using the app
  • Security cookies - protect against cross-site request forgery

3. What We Do NOT Use

Merry-Go does not use:

  • Advertising cookies
  • Third-party tracking cookies
  • Social media tracking pixels
  • Cross-site behavioral profiling cookies

Your activity on Merry-Go is not sold, shared with ad networks, or used to build advertising profiles.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Our payment processor (Safaricom M-Pesa) and our infrastructure provider (Google Cloud / Firebase) may set cookies when you interact with the payment flow or authentication flow. These are strictly functional and necessary for those services to work.

5. Managing Cookies

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. However, because Merry-Go relies on essential cookies for authentication, disabling them will prevent you from logging in.

To manage cookies:

  • Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Cookies and other site data
  • Safari: Settings, Safari, Privacy and Security
  • Firefox: Settings, Privacy and Security, Cookies and Site Data

6. Changes to This Policy

If we introduce new cookies or change how we use them, we will update this policy and post a notice on the site.
